Hooping with HoopBeats(TM)
Hooping is way more fun than the hula hooping you remember as a child, because the bigger and heavier the hoop, the slower it rotates around your body. This means that even if you think you can't hoop, with one of these hoops, you can! Everybody can hoop, regardless of age, size, or sense of rhythm. The rotation of these larger hoops is slow enough that even clumsy amateurs can keep the hoop going - and it's not too hard to get into dancing and even doing tricks. http://www.hooping.org Beginner's BasicsMondays 8:15-9:15pm Beginner's/Beginner's+ Tuesdays 5:15-6:15 or8:15-9:15pmdetails and registrationHoopShop: Hand HoopTricks with Tina HemmerleSept 26th, 5:30-7pmHoopShop: Upper Body HoopTricks with Chrissy SakosOctober 10, 5:30-7pmHoopShop: Tape and Take, Make you own custom hoop. All Ages!November 8, 1pm-3pmdetails & registration

Yoga for Menopause and More: Peri menopause, Post menopause, Aging, Menstrual Difficulties and Womens Health with Theresa Rowland Sunday October 4, 1 4pm, $55 Details and registration
Yoga for Menopause is actually yoga for all women. At one point we all need help navigating the disturbances brought on by hormonal shifts and the aging process. Although the map is different at each stage for each one of us, there are guidelines which are helpful to all of us. It is never too early, or too late, to learn how to take care of yourself with yoga.
In this workshop you will learn about menopause and practice specific postures designed to relieve symptoms such as short periods, cramping, anxiety, depression, insomnia, hot flashes, headaches, weight gain and fatigue. Many of these yoga techniques are, by nature, expansive, cooling and restful. We will share our stories, support each other, and practice the gifts that yoga offers to women.
Introduced to yoga by her mother, Ms. Rowland went on to study with BKS Iyengar, his family and senior instructors. She is now the inspiration for yoga students and yoga teachers throughout New Jersey and the metropolitan area, teaching everything from beginners, to therapeutics, to Iyengar Yoga Teacher Education. An accomplished gymnast, Ms. Rowland pursued a degree in Therapeutic Recreation with a specialty in Movement Therapy. She brings her many years of experience and insight and continuing study to her role as Director of Studio Yoga; helping students to relax, exercise and focus within. |
