Greetings!
The summer solstice ushers in the season of creativity and abundance. We found both at the James Taylor - Carole King reunion concert we attended in Boston last weekend. It was a great evening of entertainment and fun. It also led Bob to some reflections and a few coaching questions for you to answer below.
In response to the announcement last issue that Peggy will co-lead a Reiki traning and retreat in October, some readers asked for more information about Reiki. Peggy provides a brief answer in her article.
May your summer be filled with abundance and may you honor your creative gifts.
Yours in new beginnings,
Peggy and Bob MacArthur

James Taylor, Carole King and the Summer Solstice
Bob MacArthur
The day of longest light officially begins the summer season. Peggy and I observed the solstice at dawn, offering sun salutations with our yoga community to welcome the day.
Since earliest times the annual journey of the earth around the sun has provided sacred moments for people to reflect. As you read this article we invite you to take the pulse of your own life's journey by answering three questions.
Question # 1: What are your gifts?
Joan Borysenko writes that on the solstice we face into the southern gate of the medicine wheel. For those tuned in to angelic powers it is the season of Gabriel, God's messenger of abundance and creativity. [1] The questions arise. What are my gifts? What do I do well?
Your answers hold wonderful clues to your reason for being. No doubt the answers you give connect to your creative powers. When you are being your most creative self the feeling of abundance walks at your side.
So, what is the connection with James Taylor and Carole King?

What is Reiki?
Peggy MacArthur
Among the responses to our invitation to the Reiki trainings and retreat that Peggy will lead with Leslie Jose in October was the question, what is Reiki?
In our culture Reiki is often understood as an alternative healing modality that brings relaxation and stress reduction. Through healing touch the cells of the client's body are stimulated to tune into the body's inner wisdom to heal itself.
When I practice Reiki I conduct the vital energy of the universal energy field into the human energy field. I love the description that Libby Barnett, my Reiki teacher, gives.
