| Eating Healthy even when... you don't want to cook! |
|
Take 5: Do something FUN or creative BEFORE you set out to make dinner. Yes, it is good to eat dinner at the same time each day but on those days when you feel uninspired - do something fun first! Get outside, play your favorite music, or COLOR -whatever gets your juices flowing! pun intended.
Keep it simple! Some healthy combinations can be thrown together faster than warming a frozen pizza (i know, I've done it). The key is to keep it simple. Frozen veggies sauteed in olive oil, over rice or quinoa - or salad with beans, boiled egg or nuts for protein are a few ideas.
Ask your Gut! I am all for meal planning but if you are feeling BLAH about dinner because you aren't in the mood for what you had planned - then ask your GUT! What do you FEEL like eating? You may have more inspiration to make THAT!
Make it Social!
In many cultures the entire family helps with dinner. If you have extra hands hanging around - give them a "piece" of prep work or ask for their suggestions to help stir up the inspiration you are lacking. The good news is that people are more likely to eat healthy food if they helped to make it! |
