| MSP features Westchester restaurants with Savor & Support
Wednesday, July 14, 2010
A special thanks to the evening's sponsors Vincent and Josephine Corso of Blue |
Gloomy weather and a little rain did nothing to hamper the wonderful evening planned at One City Place for Savor & Support, a summer event benefitting My Sisters' Place.
In attendance were more than 300 guests eager to sample culinary delights from a wide variety of Westchester restaurants. With music provided by Sonny on the Piano and Augie of Planet DJ Augostino, everyone mingled among the tables featuring the expertise of the chefs at Blue, 42, BLT Steak, Graziella's, Legal Seafood, Milonga, Season's Bistro and Westchester Burger Company. To enhance each dish, Aries Fine Wines & Spirits, Evian Water, D. Bertolinni (Budweiser), and Harrison Beverage presented a range of drink options to satisfy any tastebud. Additionally, the participating restaurants graciously provided coupons for future dining experiences at your favorites.
With the help of One City Place and our sponsors, we were able to raise awarness about Domestic Violence in White Plains and build relationships within the community.
Many thanks to all of our individual and corporate sponsors and supporters.

MSP takes Manhattan with Summer in the City
Monday, July 26, 2010
The Frying Pan, Pier 66, NYC. | Blue skies and a calm breeze were just the ticket for the Summer in the City event at The Frying Pan, an event to raise awareness about domestic violence and human trafficking in NYC. Over 150 young professionals were treated to gorgeous views of the Hudson while enjoying hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. The evening flowed easily with a program that included an introduction from Alexandra Farbman and Ben Shapiro of the MSP Leadership Committee, information about the agency and our work by MSP staff members Lauren Kahn, Development Associate and Timothy Fallon, Immigration Staff Attorney, and an MSP video on human trafficking. Addtionally, guests had the opportunity to socialize, network and try their luck at the Treasure Chest to win raffle prizes. "We are so grateful to have the opportunity to cultivate the next generation of leaders and supporters of My Sisters' Place, as we know it is the continued vigilance of all that will affect long term change in the way our society thinks about intimate partner abuse, " said Karen Cheeks-Lomax, Executive Director of My Sisters' Place. " We look forward to our continued work together." Special thanks to the Leadership Committee and MSP staff for their support and hard work for our first event in Manhattan!
