For almost 25 years, the National Jewish Outreach Program has been dedicated to bringing postitive, joyous, Jewish experiences to North American Jews.
While we have done the legwork, creating the programs, interacting with synagogues, corresponding with students - none of this could have been possible without the contributions we solicit from our supporters. We'd like to share with you some of our unparalleled achievements from the past 24 years - achievements that you have made possible.
What is most remarkable is that NJOP has accomplished all this in an extraordinarily cost-effective manner. Relying on its over 10,500 volunteer teachers, in many instances, NJOP has been able to engage Jews in Jewish life for less than $15/Jew! NJOP pioneered and launched Crash Courses
in Hebrew Reading, Basic Judaism, and Jewish History. More than
226,000 Jews have learned
to read Hebrew through the
Hebrew Reading Crash Course program.
Today, Shabbat Across America and Canada
is the single most popular annual event on the
North American synagogue calendar; regularly
attracting over 50,000 participants. Over the
years, Shabbat Across America and Canada
alone has attracted close to 874,000 North
American participants.
Jewish Tweets, our 3 year old Twitterfeed, is
the largest Jewish lifestyle newsfeed on
Twitter, with 18,000 followers and 150,000
impressions a day. NJOP's Facebook fan
page has 4,200 fans. NJOP's "I've Got A
Feeling -- The Shabbat Song" video has had
over 250,000 views on JewishTreats'
YouTube channel, not to mention our
"Twebrew School" -Hebrew via Twitter
program - and our daily Jewish Treats email
offering "Juicy Bits of Judaism, Daily."
