Important Nutritional Study on 'Veggie Kids'
Baylor College of Medicine in Houston is conducting an important national study on iron absorption in vegan and vegetarian children ages 4 to 10 years old. The data will be used to further nutritional knowledge of vegan & vegetarian diets. If your family is interested, please contact Keli directly via email to schedule an appointment at Baylor Children's Nutrition Research Center.
This is a national study among the first of it's kind in vegan & vegetarian children! Participants will be compensated by Baylor and study participant information is kept confidential. A limited number of spaces remain.

Our 2nd Annual VegFest Houston was AMAZING!
We wish to thank everyone who supported our 2nd Annual VegFest Houston on Saturday, June 9, 2012. The Premier Vegan Community Festival of Texas had an amazing turnout with nearly 1,600 attendees and almost 50 booths! Talented speakers, musicians and presenters entertained the crowds, while some of the best vegan vendors in Texas served up delicious cuisine. Many attendees were experiencing vegan food for the first time ever! |
A sampling of the fun at our 2nd Annual VegFest Houston
| VegFest Houston received a lot of online publicity and community support leading up to the big day. We also had great media coverage from our friends at Stay Diverse, Houston Culture Map and CW39 NewsFix to name a few. Check out our Press & Media page for all the cool links! Did you know "The Premier Vegan Community Festival of Texas" is one of the few in the nation produced entirely by volunteers? We think that is truly amazing!!! | |

In addition, we greatly appreciate our wonderful speakers, enthusiastic presenters and talented musicians. A huge thanks also goes out to our 2012 festival Sponsors, Gift Donors and Community Partners! | |

reminding him of the milk he drank as a newborn, to which Foster replied, "My mom didn't produce cow milk," When some sports fans criticized his veganism, he replied on Twitter, "People feel so strong about meat and milk. I wish they felt this strong about peace." We love it when a Houston Texans NFL star is vegan and wants peace! Be sure to post supportive feedback on his Facebook page! Our Vegan Bake Sale Fundraiser was a SWEET success!
We held a Vegan Bake Sale Fundraiser just a few weeks prior to our 2nd Annual VegFest Houston, as part of the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale Campaign. Thanks to wonderful bakers, volunteers and supporters for helping us raise over $400 toward our 2012 VegFest Houston production costs!
Those who stopped by the bake sale had a variety of tasty vegan sweets and treats to choose from. We also handed out free vegan starter kits and related literature to the public. It was a sweet success indeed!
