Greetings!
April has been a busy month for Vegan Society of PEACE! We had a great turnout at our monthly potluck, where we showed clips from a new documentary as part of Vegan Earth Day awareness. Our volunteers also helped hundreds of children plant their own organic vegetable seedlings and handed out literature from our booth at Earth Day Houston. Just last week, our volunteers gave literature and answered questions from our outreach booth at the Hewlett-Packard Sustainability Fair. We'll be doing more outreach at Houston area school campuses this coming week. We are also having our Vegan Earth Day Lunch on official "Earth Day"! The event is at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Loving Hut Vegan Restaurant in Houston. Loving Hut is the largest vegan restaurant chain in the world, whose motto is "Be Veg, Go Green, Save the Planet". At the lunch, members of our VegFest Committee will host a short orientation for those who are interested in volunteering at VegFest Houston in June. Plus, there will be vegan "Earth Day" cupcakes from Sweet Stories while they last! Please join us on Earth Day if you can! RSVP is greatly appreciated.
