| World Go Vegan Week 2010 |
"World Go Vegan Week" was created by In Defense of Animals (IDA). The campaign is a way to encourage people to educate their community about the vegan lifestyle as a compassionate, sustainable, and healthy way of eating and living.
The Vegan Society of PEACE is a proud supporter of World Go Vegan Week! Please join us by informing others about the many benefits of vegan living. |
Letter Writing Campaign |
World Go Vegan Week is a great opportunity to write positive letters to the editors of local and national newspapers! Vegan Society of PEACE is holding a letter writing campaign this week in honor of the WGVW campaign!
Letters can be sent to newspapers worldwide. When sending letters, be sure to provide information and facts about the many reasons to be vegan, including:
- ethics and animal rights
- horrors of factory farming and slaughterhouses
- environmental concerns
- world hunger and human rights
- health and nutrition
- peace and nonviolence
Here is a sampling of email addresses for popular newspapers and more may be found online:
New York Times: letters@nytimes.com Los Angeles Times: letters@latimes.com Washington Post: letters@washpost.com Houston Chronicle: viewpoints@chron.com Remember to keep your letters positive, concise and under 150 words if possible.
Always include and sign your name, and provide your address, phone and email for the newspaper to verify. You can request that only a first name and city be listed if published.
Thank you for participating in our World Go Vegan Week Letter Writing Campaign! Let us know if your letter gets published!
*Many thanks to VSOP Volunteer Jeff Coburn for inspiring our WGVW letter writing campaign! |

A great resource for finding worldwide veg restaurant listings can be found online at HappyCow.net.

Why we advocate for
Vegan Living
| |
*Each year, approximately 58 billion land animals are killed in the world's factory farms and slaughterhouses to produce meat, eggs, and dairy.* This number does not include the billions of aquatics and ocean animals who are killed for consumption.
The Vegan Society of PEACE believes that living VEGAN saves billions of lives, prevents the exploitation of all living beings, protects the environment, diminishes world hunger, improves human health, contributes to sustainable living, and promotes peace and compassion.
