Just a friendly reminder that our 5th Annual Texas "Veggin'-out" Days Campaign is this week!
Held each year on October 1 (World Vegetarian Day) and October 2 (World Farm Animals Day and Mahatma Gandhi's Birthday), this campaign encourages all Texans to "dine out" and support local vegan and vegetarian establishments while showing consumer demand for compassionate cuisine. Our campaign has been recognized by the North American Vegetarian Society (NAVS) and is supported by the member groups of the Lone Star Vegetarian Network (LSVN).
We have some great links and resources for you in the sidebar on the left, including links to veg dining throughout Texas. We are also very excited to announce some great Vegan Society of PEACE Coupon Offers from our 2010 "Texas Veggin'-out Days" Sponsors in the Houston area! Be sure to print and share the coupons below, which are only valid this week on October 1 and 2!
For our members residing outside Texas, we encourage you to join in the spirit of our campaign by supporting your local veg establishments. You can search for global restaurant listings at HappyCow.net. If you don't have a veg restaurant in your city, you could still hold a vegan potluck, picnic or community meal with friends and family.
If you are in Houston, be sure to support our sponsors when dining out on Friday, October 1, and Saturday, October 2. Remember to print and take your coupons with you and share them with your friends. They are a great incentive for non-vegetarians to try delicious vegan cuisine!
