Our event will begin with a vegan dinner at 6:30 PM, where attendees can order their own vegan meal from the menu. Following the dinner, Filmmaker Neel Parekh will present his short documentary film 'FREE RANGE', which features the compassionate people and animal residents of Sunny Day Farm Animal Sanctuary in Texas. The film also shows, in contrast, the shocking reality behind the 'free range' and 'humane' farm labels, where the animals ultimately suffer the same fate at the slaughterhouse. Note: some parts of the film contain graphic images of cruelty toward animals as filmed at an actual "free range" farm operation.

After the film, Sunny Day Farms Founder Brooke Oliver Chavez will speak about running a farm animal sanctuary in Texas, rescuing abused animals and the educational youth programs offered by her sanctuary. We will have a raffle basket fundraiser with lots of vegan goodies to benefit the animals of Sunny Day Farms. There will also be a special announcement about the upcoming Vegan Society of PEACE Volunteer Day and road trip to Sunny Day Farms this Fall.
