Our 4th Annual
Texas "Veggin'-out" Days
is just one week away!
Join us for our Houston Event on October 1, 2009! |
Greetings!
We are just one week away from our 4th Annual Texas "Veggin'-out" Days Campaign! Held each year on October 1 (World Vegetarian Day) and October 2 (World Farm Animals Day & Mahatma Gandhi's Birthday), this campaign encourages Texans to "dine out" and support local vegan & vegetarian establishments while showing consumer demand for compassionate cuisine. Our campaign has been recognized by the North American Vegetarian Society (NAVS) and is supported by the Lone Star Vegetarian Network (LSVN).
In Houston, we're holding a special Society of PEACE Dinner Event on Thursday, October 1st at 6:30 PM. Join us at Pepper Tree Veggie Cuisine for a special "Veggin'-out" Days all-you-can-eat buffet, a short presentation about our campaigns & upcoming events, free literature & great door prizes (including hardcover copies of Gene Baur's book, Farm Sanctuary) and the opportunity to mingle with other Society of PEACE members! Be sure to reserve your seat soon, as seating is limited and spots are filling up fast!
You can visit the Happy Cow Compassionate Eating Guide for a listing of veggie restaurants in Texas and around the world. Our 2009 Texas "Veggin'-out" Days flyer (shown above) can also be downloaded, printed and distributed freely. If you don't have a veg restaurant in your city, you could still hold a vegan potluck, picnic or community meal with friends & family.
Thank you for supporting our annual Texas "Veggin'-out" Days Campaign, World Vegetarian Day and World Farm Animals Day! More details on our Houston event can be found below.
For a compassionate world,
