• Save Dogs from Trauma Training at the University of Michigan! Join the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) in urging the end of using live dogs in trauma training courses at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.  The trauma training involves cutting open live, anesthetized dogs and practicing emergency medical procedures.  After the training session, the animals are killed.  Send polite letters to the University of Michigan Medical School dean to request non-animal training methods!
• Take the Pledge to Use Cruelty-Free Products!  Make a commitment to eliminate animal testing by pledging to only purchase products approved by the Leaping Bunny Program!  Help to make our collective voices even stronger and drive more companies to go cruelty-free, saving animals from cruel and unnecessary testing. Sign the cruelty-free pledge online and boycott animal testing!
• Ask Houston Mayor Bill White, Houston City Council and other elected officials to transform the city pound into a no kill shelter! Join other concerned citizens in asking the City of Houston to reform the Bureau of Animal Regulation & Care -- BARC (the city pound) by implementing a no kill policy and hiring an animal-friendly bureau chief. BARC euthanizes at least 30,000 animals per year.  Send polite letters & emails to city officials using No Kill Houston's contact information list. 
• Thank Houston District Attorney Pat Lykos for establishing an Animal Cruelty Division!  Pat Lykos took office as District Attorney on January 1, 2009. One of her first acts was to create an Animal Cruelty Division to prosecute animal cruelty. She named experienced animal cruelty prosecutor Belinda Smith to head the new Division. Please let the new DA know that the public believes prosecuting criminals who hurt animals is important. Violence is violence, no matter who the victim is and people who hurt animals frequently go on to hurt people as well. Thank Pat Lykos for setting up the new division by sending an email to her public information officer, George Flynn.
• Sign the Animal Bill of Rights! Signatures are still needed for the Animal Bill of Rights. Join the Animal Legal Defense Fund in letting President Barack Obama and Congress know that you want their support for basic legal protections for animals!  Sign the online pledge and receive a free certificate.
