Society of PEACE E-News & Events
"Promoting PEACE & Compassion for ALL Beings"

FEBRUARY 2008

Dear Society of PEACE Members & Supporters:
There are several great events this month, including
our "Vegan Eats & Sweets" Potluck Party and many
local meetups. In addition, we are pleased to
announce a newly added Society of PEACE event --
"Effective Advocacy & Vegan Outreach's Adopt-a-
College Campaign", featuring an educational
presentation by Jon
Camp. You'll find
links to these and more events below and on our
website.
Many of you may have seen recent news where
the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS)
released graphic undercover
video documenting extreme cruelty inflicted
upon "downed" animals on their way to slaughter.
Several national newspapers and television networks
have covered this shocking story and now public
school districts across the country are pulling meat
from school lunches over safety concerns. Weeks
prior to the HSUS expose, PETA released similarly
graphic video from an undercover investigation at two
Tyson slaughterhouses. You'll find more on this in
our news
section below, as well as our action alerts section.
We
hope
millions of people will be inspired to choose a
compassionate diet -- not only for the sake of their
health and the environment, but for the billions of
animals whose lives are taken every year. There's
never been a better time
for vegan outreach and animal advocacy than
now!
Everything and everyone makes a difference!
Join us in making a lasting difference. Get
involved! Be the change!
