Dear Society of PEACE Activist Network Members:
October is an exciting time of year, as we begin
Vegetarian
Awareness Month and participate in
several
wonderful outreach campaigns!
Our
2nd annual "Texas
Veggin'-
out Days" campaign was held again this
year
on October 1 (in honor of World
Vegetarian Day) and October 2
(in honor of World Farm
Animals Day &
Mahatma
Gandhi's Birthday). This is a statewide
campaign designed to encourage Texans
to 'dine out' in
support their local veggie establishments, and to
bring awareness to WVD & WFAD. Society of
PEACE also produced a special radio program for Go
Vegan Texas! on Monday, October 1st in honor of
WVD,
WFAD & Gandhi's Birthday. You can download
archives of
the show here. In addition, we hosted several events featuring
Vegetarian author & historian Rynn
Berry between September
29 - October 1, just in time for World Vegetarian Day!
Please check our events & outreach listings below
and online
for more information on the many campaigns and
festivals held each October, including the upcoming
World GO VEGAN Days!
