Dear Society of PEACE Activist Network Members:
Last month, the worldwide Live Earth concerts drew
media attention to several issues concerning global
warming. Sadly, there are still many (including Al
Gore)
who have not made the connection between global
warming, animal agriculture and a meat-centric diet.
This affirms the need for global outreach and
education on the many benefits of a plant-based diet.
Live Earth did, however, prompt responses from
a variety of individuals and organizations in an effort to
educate the public on
the most inconvenient truth. As a result, our
news section this month will focus on how a plant-
based diet is best for the Animals and the planet.
In addition,
National
advocacy group FARM USA
has created the
"Bite Global Warming" educational campaign,
which takes place on August 18th in an effort
to reaffirm the connection
between diet and global warming. Please visit their
website to request
free educational cards to distribute in your
community.
And remember, if you have a story you'd like to share,
or a review of your favorite veggie cookbook or
animal rights book, please let
us know. Your story or review could be featured
in a future E-Newsletter!
Thank YOU for promoting compassion and being a voice for the Animals!
