Leaves are falling, nights are cooler, and we are busy with LOTS of activity for coat drives! In this time of recession, it is very good news to see an increase in coat drives and sponsor support.

The Family That Bikes Together... Warms Others, Too!
 Jason Jones of the Charlotte (NC) Vulcan Riders motorcycle club recently shared the club's plan for its second "Cruise for Coats." (Cruising is riding.) This month, club members will ride out and pick up coats at the many sites that have been collecting warm coats to give to the area's children's home and homeless shelter. After, there's live music and a barbeque! What inspires the Charlotte Vulcan riders to give to their community? Jason says, "There are so many homeless or less fortunate these days, it is horrible to think that someone may get sick... because they couldn't stay warm." "Cruising" looks like an ouststanding way to meet and say thanks to those who volunteer!

Warm Coats With ImpACT!
 Earlier this month, Sherri had a marvelous time at the North Point Church's ImpACT Event, where she and volunteers unloaded and created a "store" stocked with 200 brand new children's coats. The ImpACT Team (Adam, Jamie and Lisa) joined Jeff from the Boys & Girls Club of Springfield (MO) and hundreds of volunteers to help famlies choose their own coats! The coats were purchased with funds donated by customers at Burlington Coat Factory stores. Thanks, ImpACT and friends, for helping us deliver these coats and meet the wonderful people who make a difference in your community! (Check out Sherri's photo album on our Facebook page. The children's faces say it all! (...and Sherri claims she only cried 3 times...!)
