 Gifts to Give"What if there were a place where kids could experience - through their doing - the power of giving and service?" That question prompted Jim Stevens to found Gifts to Give in New Bedford, MA in 2008. The agency's multi-faceted goal is to "deliver gifts of clothes and other things to children in need and, at the same time, engage more affluent children and their SouthCoast elders in providing the less fortunate with a lift up." Since 2008, Jim and the adult staff and volunteers have provided a very family-friendly place and expert training to help children make a BIG difference in their communities. (Their volunteer ad offers "meanginful work for kids starting at age 3!") As their website says, "We all have gifts to give." Gifts to Give: giving warm coats and a whole lot more! Amazing! |

 KINDness & One Warm Coat: A Mission Accomplished - Quickly!
Our new partner, KIND Healthy Snacks, sent their friends and fans on a special One Warm Coat mission on February 2nd. The challenge? If 100 KINDAHOLICS would take a warm beverage to a volunteer, nurse, paramedic or other caregiver, KIND Healthy Snacks would "pay it forward" by purchasing and delivering 100 NEW COATS to people in need. We're happy to report that the coats were delivered on February 10th! (Wow!) Here's an in-person report of the day's activities.
"In addition to blessings, smiles and words of thanks, we were met with thoughts about the importance of staying young at heart, smiling whenever possible and practicing compassion. It...solidified our belief that together we can build an undercurrent of kindness that will sweep the nation."
