TOO HEAVY TO LIFT?

Hey, we know that caregivers are injured every day trying to move people when they shouldn’t.  Who can fault a caregiver that is just trying to be helpful?  However, the possibility of an injury from a single lift or an accumulation of lifts over a period of time can be serious.  It is a continuing problem that needs to be fixed.

But how about the patient that is just too big to move?  How about a patient that weighs 300 pounds, 600 pounds, or even 1000 pounds?  They need to be taken care of too.

The ceiling lift pictured to the left has a safe lifting capacity of 1000 pounds.  And, just like any other overhead lift can be used to lift and move a patient with very little effort.

Bariatric lifts like this one can be mounted on a fixed track as shown or they can be

mounted on a portable track that can be moved from room to room.

To the right is one simple possibility.  The lift is mounted on a fixed ceiling track represented by the blue line and can be used to lift and move a patient from bed to wheelchair and back again.  The best part is that the chance of injury to either the patient or the caregiver is at a minimum.
