Portable
Overhead Lifts The most versatile lift |
|||
|
|
Last
month we picked on that poor old fashioned, pump up “hoyer” type lift.
And, why not? They are
difficult to impossible for anyone to use.
They truly make a better boat anchor than a safe, reliable means to
lift and move a person. How about the two lifts pictured here? These
are portable overhead lifts and they require no effort at all for anyone
to move a person up, down, and sideways.
Oh, yes, they are more money but for a person that must be lifted
and moved over and over again, day in and day out, often for the rest of
their life it just might be worth it. |
||
|
Not only can they be
used to move a person safely and reliably but they are a great back saver
too. Too many professional caregivers have had their careers ended
prematurely from back or shoulder injuries.
And, for some the specter of increased workers comp insurance
premiums from on the job injuries might be considered as well. |
|
||
|
They are lightweight and easily moved for use in adjoining rooms or disassembled for use when traveling from place to place. With these lifts a
person may be lifted and moved to and fro in one direction.
How about a similar set up that would allow a person to be lifted
and moved in any direction effortlessly. That
is the subject of next months' Journal. |
