"End Hit and Run Loophole" Passes LegislatureHouse Bill 1084 Now Moves to Governor's Desk
HB 1084, the "End Hit and Run Loophole" bill, passed the Colorado Senate on Monday, May 7, with an overwhelming 34-1 vote. This campaign began with skeptics saying this bill would be difficult to pass. The bill received a big boost during the Colorado Bicycle Summit as attendees met with their legislators and expressed the importance of laws upholding stopping at the scene of an injury crash. Now both the House and Senate have approved the bill and it heads to the Governor's desk. Thanks to the bill's four prime sponsors and to everyone who called or emailed in support of the bill!
For more information on the specifics of the bill and its path through the state legislature, visit our "End the Hit and Run Loophole" page.
