January 2009

 Greetings!

And Happy New Year! We at The Children's Science Center are in the midst of planning another Enchanted Forest slimeexciting year filled with interactive activities and programs, even as we continue toward our goal of building a world-class children's science museum.

These activities and programs will take place at community centers and other venues, as well as at major events throughout Northern Virginia and surrounding areas. To help build this program, The Children's Science Center is looking for two part-time administrative assistants/outreach  specialists.

These part-time positions offer a professional work environment and the opportunity to be an instrumental part of developing the museum. The successful candidates will have previous experience with clerical tasks, volunteer coordination, and event planning.

The duties of the administrative assistants include, but are not limited to: creating communications vehicles, coordinating outreach and fundraising events, helping to develop and implement community based educational programs and managing the database of donors and volunteers. Some evening and weekend work will be required.

Don't forget to visit us on the Web at www.TheChildrensScienceCenter.org.

Fundraising  for the
Children's Science Center

Do you know of an organization whose members would like to see Children's Science Center open its doors as much as you?

We can work with school parent-teacher organizations, educators, homeschoolers, community and neighborhood groups, church associations and others to customize a fundraising program.

All proceeds from these fundraising programs will go directly toward supporting Children's Science Center and the group will receive recognition and rewards commensurate with its level of giving.

To set up a fundraising drive for your organization, please contact Executive Director Ann Myers at A.Myers@TheChildrensScienceCenter.org.

The Children's Science Center is a 501 (c)(3) organization and donations are fully tax deductible.
