Leave No Trace e-Newsletter
January 2010
logo 2010 is here - the new year has begun and so has our launch of new and exciting 2010 activities.

Leave No Trace is thriving with new initiatives for the year including our Hot Spots program and, look out, Bigfoot is back! These two new programs offer excellent opportunities for people to get active and involved with Leave No Trace.

Hotspots is a community and volunteer driven program that allows people to nominate an outdoor area close to home that will benefit from Leave No Trace training, education and outreach. The Center staff has created specific criteria to help people determine if their area qualifies as a Hotspot. When chosen, we will work closely with Hotspot areas volunteers to assess and address the needs and mutual outcomes we'd like to see in these Hotspot locations.

Our furry, if elusive, friend, Bigfoot is making another appearance this year. The Bigfoot Challenge offers simple, easy tasks for people to put Leave No Trace into action. Take our new "Bigfoot is Back" challenge which will change monthly and offer prize packages to those who participate.

We're also rolling out a new online learning program, free downloadable PDF teaching tools and other great resources on our website. Look for these programs and other new offerings at www.LNT.org.

Don't delay this year - get involved with Leave No Trace and make a difference. Set your new year resolutions to include Leave No Trace in your daily life and use these new programs and resources to make it happen.
