Enrich Your World & the World Around You!

March/April '07

Greetings!
Spring has officially sprung! This is a momentous
time
to take stock of where you've been and where you
want to be going - there has been so much activity
already this year - lots of letting go of things, ideas
and
patterns from the past allowing us to make the
changes that will move us forward into a
whole new future. As you know, March is
Women's
History Month and we've just had the Spring
Equinox. It's
a perfect time to think about what kind of woman
do
you
want to be? What is the history that you want to
create
for yourself? What do you want to have accomplished
when you look back on your life? What kind of imprint
would you like to leave behind on the planet? These
are great
questions to think about as we enter the Spring
season, and TWM offers many ways to help you
answer
them!
We've already offered three such opportunities in the
first three months of the year - in January we had our
New Year, New You! Women's Circle
with
WomanVision
which was a powerful,
interactive, profound way of tapping into our goals for
2007, sharing and declaring them to others to set
them in motion. Then in February we had our
Love
Your Self, Love Your Body event which
fostered a
better physical image and feeling about ourselves -
which is essential since we get so much more
accomplished when we love
and feel good about how we present ourselves to the
world. And then just this
past
weekend, we had our semi-annual Visioning
Workshop to help gain clarity and focus to
uncover the vision and overall reality we are trying to
create for
ourselves by tapping into our subconscious and
letting our
heart's desire manifest in the form of a collage that we
then shared with others, solidifying the vision even
more and thus giving us a tool to help manifest it. (
And now
with the addition of a
TWM Blog to share the experience even more!)
Then, towards the end of April, we'll be offering ways
for
you to
recognize your connection with the 'Mothership' with
our upcoming event
Chicks Rock the Planet! Women, Earth & The
Environment - more details and
announcements to follow. You will also have the
opportunity to celebrate and support lives of
women who have had to deal with cancer in our fourth
annual TWM'sTeam for the Revlon
Run/Walk
coming up on May 5th. Check out the below
articles for more info...
And of course one significant way to celebrate the past
achievements of all the
grandmothers, mothers, sisters, leaders, pioneers,
revolutionaries and visionaries who came before us
is to support an
organization who seeks to continue to strengthen,
inform, enlighten and inspire this and future
generations of woman to express their
full power and potential in the world - so please
consider this your time to become a member or
make a donation
to The Women's Mosaic. It's a great way to
tangibly
honor such work and dedication to yourself
and to
women both here and abroad. See below article for
more information and a separate email to follow.
In other news, we want to welcome all the new
additions to our mailing list, particularly from the
Columbia University Non-Profit Job Fair!
Thank you for stopping by our table and please be
sure to verify your mailing list options below . If any of
you have time, talent, or treasure that you would like to
share with TWM, see the below article on how to get
more involved, and be sure to check off the
Volunteer
Opportunities Interest Category on your
subscriber
profile. And everyone should be sure their info
and
snail mail address is correct and up to date by clicking
on the Update Email Address/Profile
link at the bottom of this email.
In other news and tie-in with Women's History Month,
we
wanted let everyone know that I won the Tango
Diva 2007 Diva Visionary Award! Once the official
announcement and profile is up we'll send it out. In
the
meantime I wanted to take this opportunity to extend
my sincere thanks to
everyone who voted for
me and especially those who took the time to
write a supportive
comment, as that was what ultimately influenced the
judges
who based the contest on the overall achievement of
and support for the finalist, not
just votes. This will help give TWM some much
needed
publicity which will allow us to grow and expand in
many
ways! Again, thank you!
That's all for now....we'll be sending out several
emails over the next few weeks with event
announcements and Membership Drive information
so stay tuned! And as always, should you have any
comments or suggestions about anything that
we are
doing please do not hesitate to contact us!
Happy Spring!

JANUARY EVENT: New Year, New You! Ignite Your Passions for 2007
Wednesday, January 17th 7:30pm - 9:30pm
Over twenty five ladies gathered one cold night in
January
to start off 2007 by fueling the fire of our passions!
Co-
sponsored and facilitated by WomanVision,
through a series of interactive, creative and symbolic
exercises we clarified what is the one thing we
longed to accomplish or step
into by December 31, 2007 and where we will direct
our attention and passion
during this upcoming year. It was an experiential
evening that tapped into our
hearts' deepest desires and re-connected us with the
passion that we need to get what we really long for. A
different way of
connecting with our inner wisdom, many left feeling
excited
and energized!
Many thanks to Joanna Lindendbaum and Dawn
Copeland for facilitating a memorable and powerful
event!

FEBRUARY EVENT: Love Your Self, Love Your Body Lingerie Party!
Thursday, February 8th 6:30pm - 9:00pm
Over forty women came out for this pre-Valentine's
Day celebration
of loving the most important person your life -
YOU! We listened to Lingerie Fit Expert Lisa Cole as
she talked about how body image and self esteem
issues can be connected to lingerie and how it fits
you! Lisa was a true sage regarding all types and
brands of lingerie and the
needs and concerns of women regarding their body -
she also gave us some great strategies about
building a lingerie wardrobe and various options
regarding what to wear with certain types of
clothes.
Prior to the presentation, attendees enjoyed exotic
cocktails provided by Ocean Vodka
and munched on snacks from Vegeterranean. Sponsored by FreshPair.com
, many also took advantage of
a
private personal fit consultation with Lisa - and
everyone who attended
received a
fabulous goodie bag and a few lucky ladies won
some exciting
raffle prizes!
Special thanks to our very brave before and
after 'models' TWM Members Kate Brett and Jenny
Parra!
***JOIN NOW AND RECEIVE A SPECIAL
MEMBERS ONLY BENEFIT to schedule a
personal fit appointment with Lisa Cole (free with
$100 purchase from Freshpair) when she is
back in NYC on March 25th and 26th. An email will be
sent to you with details once you join.

TWM BLOG ANNOUNCEMENT!
Continue the discussion by connecting with other TWM'ers online
In the attempt to create an open and continuing line of
dialogue between TWM members and event
attendees we have created a TWM Blog. The hope is
that the conversation that begins at TWM events will
grow beyond the time we're physically together. We
tend to find out much after the fact how people's lives
have been affected by TWM and we want to find ways
to bridge that gap. We invite all members and
attendees to begin
posting on the blog following an event - or perhaps
just with a general question or comment.
Our first TWM bloggers are from the March
Visioning
Workshop. We are excited for this group to keep
up
with their personal growth regarding their experiences
both in the workshop itself and beyond!
To read about their experiences visit:
http://thewomensmosaic.blogspot.com/
Special thanks to TWM Member Johanna Stamps
for taking on this project!

TWM 2006 Survey Results!
Who Is TWM and What Are We Doing - You Told US
Thank you to everyone who took the time to
partake in our TWM 2006 Survey! We had a
great response rate with a diverse cross-section of
people that have known us from the beginning, and
others who have never been to an event, to still
others who were receiving our email for the first
time. There were no real surprises, so the basic
theme that we got out of it was that we are
doing
what we say we do, and serving who we say we
serve!
Some of the highlights and interesting pointsof
note
were:
Average Age: 30-35
Religion: 39% Say they are Spiritual but do
not affiliate with any particular religion
How People Feel After They Attend a TWM
Event: Inspired 45%
(close behind: Informed, Enlightened, Connected &
Motivated)
Reason for Not Attending TWM Events:
Lack of time 72%
Preferred Types of Events: Personal Growth
Workshops 57%, Multicultural Events 53%
We will also be taking into consider some of the
suggestions we received regarding cost, location,
topics and
timing of events and announcements so stay tuned
as we try to implement them.
Other feedback we received was:
"I believe in the mission of TWM, even if I can't
always make it to events. I think it's an important
organization to support."
"I have found it difficult to make friends in NYC,
so I like to take part in a group of women to meet
people. I also enjoy coming together with other
women in an atmosphere that is not competitive or
threatening."
"The events are fulfilling."
"I love Kristina's vision and the mission of TWM.
Had
great experiences with the women it attracts and
enjoy the opportunity to learn something new, meet
new and interesting people, and attend events with
other women and network all at the same
time."
"Think you are doing a great job and despite not
attending any of the events, I do
enjoy reading your enewsletter."
"I feel part of a community."
"It [TWM] makes the effort to delve into the
experiences of women from various ethnic/cultural
backgrounds and in doing this it gives women a voice
to express themselves and have their ideas, and
beliefs validated."
"Diverse group of women who think that they
don't have anything in common but you would be
surprised..."
"There are no programs quite like The Women's
Mosaic"

Who's Saying What About TWM...
"TWM brings women together to connect in deep
and profound ways -- offering
transformative experiences that touch and empower
the soul. Opportunities like these
allow the healing process to begin from a place which
recognizes that we are all
universal beings." - Terrie M. Williams,
Inspirational author, "The
Personal Touch" and the forthcoming "Black Pain: It
Just Looks Like We're
Not Hurting" Scribner '07
"The Secretary-General has asked me to thank
you for having sent to him the most recent issue of
INSPIRER. You know the importance which he
attaches to efforts undertaken by inter-
governmental and non-governmental organizations
alike, as well as by individuals, to promote inter-
cultural understanding. He has read with interest,
therefore, the account of the recent activities of the
Women's Mosaic in this field." - Special
Assistant to Kofi Annan, Secretary-General
of the UN
"....so happy to have a report on your work - it is
such important work - you are inspiring and
result-producing." - Helen Gurley Brown,
