Greetings!
Well, we hope you have been keeping warm
throughout
January's chilly weather! This month we have an
event that is sure to heat you up....but more on
that later. We also want to wish you a Happy New
Year again, as the Lunar New Year on
February 9th
will be celebrated by many in our midst - it's always
a particularly special time of the year for
TWM, as our very first event was a Chinese New
Year Celebration four years ago!
Last month's annual
ESP Conference: Empower, Support & Promote
Each Other and Ourselves was a great success!
Despite the below freezing temps, just over 30 of
you made it down to the swanky SOHO 323 Lounge
to
hear from over a dozen dynamic women with some
very interesting things to share.
It was a wonderful opportunity to
meet other ladies of TWM and learn about the
various
things we
have to offer each other! You can read all about it
below.....Many thanks to volunteers Jessica Cary,
Julia Bonsignore and Rosanna Sasso for their help at
the event.
By now you all should have received an invitation to
this month's semi-annual fundraiser, a
Valentine's Chocolat Tasting at Marie
Belle next Thursday, February 10th. Please
come out to
benefit The Women's Mosaic in this fun, interesting
way - if you've seen the movie 'Chocolat', then you
have a sense of what real chocolate can do
to
stir up some passion in your life. And although
Johnny
Depp will not be attending, it is a co-ed
event, and we guarantee your
taste buds will not be disappointed, and that your
heart will
be glad it supported an organization that is worthy of
its
love! Attendees will also receive a 10% discount
from Marie Belle on purchases made that

Next month is Women's History Month, with
March
8th being International Women's Day. Besides it
being another significant time to join our
organization, we hope to offer an exciting and
interesting event so stay tuned for a separate
announcement and update about
that as it develops.
We also wanted to let you know that we are
currently searching for interns (and
volunteers) in
the areas of Development/Fundraising,
Event Planning,
Public
Relations, and Administrative/Membership,
so please
have any interested candidates send us a cover

LAST MONTH'S EVENT:ESP Conference: Empower, Support & Promote Each Other and Ourselves!
Information, Interaction and Inspiration at SOHO 323 Lounge
On Tuesday, January 18th just over 30 women
attended this TWM gathering
where they had an opportunity
to hear from a dozen dynamic,
inspiring women who had information, services and
gifts to share. We learned about everything
from NYC's Teaching Fellows program,
the
United Nations Association's Young Professionals
Group, and Peace X Peace Women's Circles to various
services and products offered such as holistic
healing, a children's dance program, and t-shirts with
empowering messages. The feedback we
received
was great - mostly how attendees' eyes were
opened to such diverse topics, organizations and
ways of earning a
living doing what one loves and is passionate about,
and that how each attendee came away with new
information that they will incorporate into their own
lives, or knew someone in their immediate circle who
could!
Thanks to all our speakers for sharing their time and
information with us!

THIS MONTH'S EVENT: Valentine's Chocolat Tasting Benefit for The Women's Mosaic
Thursday, February 10th 7:30pm-9:30pm
Join us for a special pre-Valentine's Day treat,
Chocolat style, to get you in the mood for love! We'll
be doing a chocolate tasting as well as finding out
about the history and making of chocolate at Marie
Belle's authentic shop in Soho. If you've ever
wondered about the effects of this aphrodisiac, come
on down and see what passions the intoxicating
chocolate stirs up among strangers and ignites for
couples!
And the best part is that you'll be demonstrating
your love and support for TWM while lavishing your
taste buds with a little piece of heaven!

we need in-kind donations of supplies, copying,
postage and
other
items to help us cut down on costs. (We are in
current need of a DIGITAL CAMERA - so if
you got a
shiny new one for the holidays and not sure what to
do with your old one - we can most certainly use it!)
We are also in need of donated OFFICE
SPACE.
