What does it say about our nation when a business stands up for what's right and the news media calls it "surprising"?
This is exactly what happened after Chick-Fil-A CEO Dan Cathy announced his support for marriage between one man and one woman this week. While so many large companies are succumbing to pressures from homosexual activists groups, Dan Cathy and his family are standing firmly on the biblical principles that have made their business a success.
In his interview with the Baptist Press, Cathy said "we're inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage."
He went on to say he prays for "God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude that thinks we have the audacity to redefine what marriage is all about." May we all join him in praying likewise.
What's not been surprising is the backlash and anger expressed toward Dan Cathy. Despite the statement the company released that they remained committed "to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect," the hysterical and outrageous attacks against them have been coming from all sides in the press and online.
Thankfully, Dan Cathy isn't one to back away or "moderate" his beliefs. Pray for him! I urge you to respond in this manner: Eat More Chikin! Take your family for a meal at Chick-Fil-A to thank them for making the bold move to stand for marriage.
