Breast Research Awareness and Support News

                      Flax Seed Tummy Tuck

I have really gotten a lot of feedback on the flax recipes I provided in my last newsletter. Several of you mentioned a loss of tummy fat....which would be related to flax's ability to reduce estrogen overload that builds up around our stomach. I actually increased my flax intake to about 6 tablespoons of flax daily. I had several days of unusual sensations in my breasts and reduced tummy fat....no double blind study, but I feel estrogen modulation was occurring here also. If you have any changes in your health I would appreciate a testimony to linda@breastresearchawareness.com. We all need small ideas to keep estrogen at bay in our toxic world.

Here's another recipe I love. Pancake

Flax Seed Puff-Pancakes
1-2 tablespoons butter
2 eggs
1/3 cup almond, coconut or organic milk
¼ cup freshly ground flaxseed
¼ teaspoon almond extract
½ teaspoon grated lemon zest (optional)

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Grind flax in blender. ( A small Rocket type blender works well). Measure ¼ cup. Add remaining ingredients and blend well in blender or by hand.

Melt butter in a 4" baking dish in oven. Immediately pour into hot dish and bake approximately 12 minutes, or until puffed and golden. Serve with fresh fruits, apple butter, chopped nuts or a drizzle of honey.

Grant for Thermography Screening in Kansas

At a recent workshop, I was asked why the Susan G. Komen foundation didn't promote thermograms. If you would like to study more on the subject you will see the money trail from mammogram interests. On the other hand, the United Breast Cancer Foundation does help women with breast health by providing thermograms or mammograms and many other services to women in need. They definitely provide services that I have not seen from other foundations. Please give them your support at www.ubcf.org.

I am pleased to announce a grant funded by the United Breast Cancer Foundation to help uninsured or under-insured women pay for a basic breast health screening in the Overland Park, KS area. Please click here for the correct forms that must be completely filled out and returned to me. I will then send these on to the UBCF for verification. Upon verification you will be notified and we can set up a screening in my Overland Park office. This is on a first come first serve basis, so please get your forms to me. Funding is limited.

At this time, funding is for the Kansas City area. There may be more funding available, so a friendly thank you to UBCF and requests for funding in your area might be a great incentive to help many in your community.

                       BRAS Calendar Spotlight
                                                  July

I was always concerned about BioMat
mammograms  due to the evasive
procedures not to mention the radiation exposure. I found out about thermography through a friend and did my research. I recommend BRAS to anyone who has concerns about breast health and prevention. I was very impressed with their knowledge about breast health and the research that is shared with clients.
