Flax Seed Tummy Tuck
I have really gotten a lot of feedback on the flax recipes I provided in my last newsletter. Several of you mentioned a loss of tummy fat....which would be related to flax's ability to reduce estrogen overload that builds up around our stomach. I actually increased my flax intake to about 6 tablespoons of flax daily. I had several days of unusual sensations in my breasts and reduced tummy fat....no double blind study, but I feel estrogen modulation was occurring here also. Here's another recipe I love.
Flax Seed Puff-Pancakes
1-2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup almond, coconut or organic milk
¼ cup freshly ground flaxseed
¼ teaspoon almond extract
½ teaspoon grated lemon zest (optional)
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Grind flax in blender. ( A small Rocket type blender works well). Measure ¼ cup. Add remaining ingredients and blend well in blender or by hand.
Melt butter in a 4" baking dish in oven. Immediately pour into hot dish and bake approximately 12 minutes, or until puffed and golden. Serve with fresh fruits, apple butter, chopped nuts or a drizzle of honey.
