A Story From the Heart | |
Meet Lynn Troizier, a thoughtful, generous, and compassionate donor. She came to the aid of a local military family on behalf of Home Front Hearts. Lynn, who works at a Learning Tree School in Hightstown, New Jersey, wanted to lend a hand to a military family while teaching the children about helping those who are less fortunate. This was a lesson that showed how one person can truly impact the lives of others.
Lynn was browsing the Internet one day and came across Home Front Hearts. She read the background and mission statement of Home Front Hearts; and decided to act. Lynn reached out to all the parents and staff at Learning Tree and they contributed to help a local military family purchase Christmas toys and additional items for the parents to enjoy. Going further, the Learning Tree School contributed money to pay for the family's rent as well as payments for their truck. When Lynn was asked what drove her to coordinate these donations with parents and staff at Learning Tree, she said "These men and women dedicate their lives to keeping our country safe. It's our duty to give them a little peace of mind." Lynn's selfless act of kindness shows the true spirit of giving.
The new year is upon us, take time to reflect on those who serve and their families and the tremendous sacrifices they make to preserve our freedoms. Think about Lynn and Learning Tree School's generosity in helping a military family. One person can truly make a difference. Lynn is certainly leading by example and encourages others, "everyone should try to help. It's just the right thing to do," she says.

Holiday Wrap-Up
Home Front Hearts provided over $30,000 in holiday help to military families this year!! Thanks to generous donations from our supporters, we distributed toys, gift cards for gas and groceries, and warm-weather items to deserving military families.
In addition, Toys R Us donated gift-wrap, stocking stuffers, and over 600 toys to allow us to bring holiday joy to even more families. Using this donation, we partnered with several other groups who serve military families and together we assisted hundreds of additional New Jersey military families. Our families included a war widow and her little girl, several wounded warrior families, and a single father who's also helping to raise his nephews, to name just a few.
We are so grateful for the corporations, places of worship, groups, and individuals who helped make our "Holiday Happiness" mission possible!
Please remember that serving military families like these is a yearlong priority for Home Front Hearts, so please check out our list of current needs as often as you can. Just because the holidays are over, the needs don't go away. We need your assistance more than ever. | |
