Home Front Hearts receives numerous requests on a weekly basis from military families around the country. Each time we receive a request, we actively search for a way to match these families up with the services and items they need. Sometimes our services include referral to other sources, but frequently we are talking to families in need of immediate assistance with basic necessities like food, diapers, clothing, and shelter.

Home Front Hearts has no dedicated funding, supplies, or resources on hand waiting to be distributed. We truly work with each family on a one-on-one basis to determine their needs and then actively seek ways to provide these needs to them. Oftentimes, a military family's life is changed forever when we're able to find ways to assist them. Because of this, your help is so critical in changing the lives of the military families we serve!

Here are some families we are working with right now: 

• Help with house repairs and donation of time, skills, or supplies for wounded warriors and their families in VA, FL, and AR. Crucial supplies and work, such as securing drywall, foundation work, plumbing, and insulation, are needed in their homes to make them livable.  Having a safe place to call home again would substantially improve their families' lives.
• Several families needing assistance with rent/mortgage payments and money for gas and food. Monetary donations to Home Front Hearts as well as gift cards to stores such as Walmart are essential for helping these families with the basic necessities of life.

 Help Troops Distribute Packages to Children 

Cpt. Ian Cairns, a New Jersey Army National Guardsman, is once again deployed to Afghanistan.  Last time he was there, Home Front Hearts was called upon to assist in sending countless boxes of supplies to a needy community there.  Boxes were stuffed to capacity with school supplies, coats, shoes, winter wear, blankets, stuffed animals, and clothing.  Each box was filled with our wishes that these children might know the basic creature comforts that our own children are blessed to take for granted.

Once again, Home Front Hearts is collecting items such as new winter wear, clothing and shoes for children and infants, as well as school supplies, to ship to Afghanistan so Cpt.  Home Front Hearts is Shipping Packages to Military Worldwide!

Home Front Hearts is starting a postage fund to help defray the cost of shipping packages to military families nationwide, in addition to shipping supplies to troops in Afghanistan to distribute to needy children there.

You may designate donations specifically towards the postage fund when you donate to Home Front Hearts.

 Showing LUV to our Communities for 40 Years Contest

Earlier this month, we announced that Home Front Hearts was one of the grand prize winners of Southwest Airlines' Showing LUV to our Communities for 40 Years Contest. As one of the award winners, Home Front Hearts received 40 roundtrip airline tickets to use towards improving the lives of military families.

Home Front Hearts will use the tickets to honor the service of military families by providing eligible military families the opportunity to visit their wounded warriors in hospital locations far from home, allow military spouses to visit family for respite during deployment, visit extended family for celebrations, illnesses, or deaths, and connect family members with service members located in cities across the country.
