Wellness Tip: Strength in Numbers | |
Exercising in a group offers the opportunity to meet new people and exercise in a social environment. Group exercise classes vary from beginner to advanced, low to high intensity and floor aerobics to dance sessions. If large group exercise isn't for you, try hitting the gym with a friend. Even if you do not do the same workout routine, going to the gym with a friend can help you stay on track.

Community Partner Spotlight: Bluford Library
The Lucile H. Bluford Library is a wonderful community partner for TMC. The Library's Health and Wellness Center celebrated its first anniversary in August, with a lock-in for teens in which they were treated to a dance competition, rap battle, and delicious, healthy food from Two Guys and Grill Catering; and a mini-health fair where patrons took advantage of free glucose checks, cholesterol screenings and blood pressure screenings. Outside the library, kids enjoyed basketball lessons from Education First, Athletics Second's Dave Wallace and also participated in El Payaso Zapaton's clown show. Evening Under The Stars
TMC Lakewood Auxiliary invites you to an "Evening Under the Stars on" Saturday August 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Lakewood atrium.
This is a wine and food tasting event designed to raise funds for the Family Birthplace at TMC Lakewood. There also will be a silent auction. One of the big auction items is a chartered flight with the Kansas City Chiefs to a regular season away game!
This year's dress is "creative black tie" - from tuxedos with sneakers to cocktail dresses with flip flops. The more creative the better!
