QUEEN'S DAY VENUE

We rented a private and gated "Special Events" venue on the grounds of Abraham Lincoln Park in Tucson. Our area is called the "Children's Outdoor Play Area and Special Events Venue".

HOW DO I GET THERE? (Please read carefully!)
  • Drive to Lincoln Park, which is located southeast of E. Escalante Rd and S. Pantano Rd in Tucson. Turn onto Pantano Rd.
  • When on Pantano, DO NOT TAKE THE PARK'S MAIN ENTRANCE ON PANTANO, BUT PROCEED to E. POINCIANA DRIVE! This way you can park practically next to the venue.
  • An address you can use to get close is "8155 East Poinciana Drive, Tucson, AZ".  Click here for Google Maps.
  • Once on Poinciana Drive, heading east, look for a blue sign that reads "Southeast Service SignCenter, Ward 4" (see picture) and follow the arrow to the left. There is your parking lot! Our Queen's Day venue is just east of the parking lot. By now you can probably hear some of that fun Dutch music!

WHEN YOU GET THERE:

GateProceed to the main iron gate (see picture). You will find people to welcome you at the gate and there will be a name badge waiting for you to fill out and wear during the event.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I BE THERE?

The gate opens at noon. Noon is the perfect time to get there, get your name badge and grab something to drink and eat.

'OFFICIAL' START OF THE PROGRAM, LUNCH

The program begins at 12:30 PM with a few opening words by Mr. Maurice Schonk, (LtCol RNLAF) and a toast to Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. The opening is followed by a delicious lunch! See below for further Queen's Day program details.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

The weather promises to be gorgeous: blue skies with high temperatures around 92F/33C. So wear something cool, informal and comfy (and if possible with the color ORANGE!!).

And as always with our desert climate: don't forget to put on some sunscreen.
