Easter Celebration Italian Family Sunday Supper Domenica di Pasqua Sunday, April 24th 2:00 - 5:00 Easter in Italy is a big holiday, not only in terms of its religious significance, but also in terms of the food that is served. After the forty days of fasting and frugality of the Lenton season, Easter marks the return to the pleasures of eating, and is usually celebrated with some very specific menu choices. Eating rich foods made with cheese and eggs has long been a way of ending the fast and celebrating new life. Cakes and pies are usually baked during Holy Week but are typically not enjoyed until served as an antipasto for Easter Dinner. Lamb is another traditional food that also represents Springtime and new life. We invite you to join us for a wonderful Easter Feast in the style of our traditional Italian family Sunday Suppers. This is a beautiful and very typical five-course meal enjoyed at long communal tables full of interesting conversation and much laughter. This all inclusive dinner is $38 per person ($16 for children 5-12) and starts promptly at 2:00 pm. Seating is very limited, so call today for your reservations! Make Way for KIDS IN THE KITCHEN!!!
It's time to start planning for summer vacation activities for your children and grandchildren, and Giardini has one great solution! Our Kids in the Kitchen Summer Camp is a great hands-on learning experience and is chocked full of fun at the same time! Open to kids just finishing grades 2-5, this week-long day camp starts out learning how to harvest fresh organic produce from our gardens before heading into our outdoor kitchen to prepare and cook a wide variety of yummy items from scratch. We'll be making our own pasta from scratch along with different sauces, we'll learn to make woodfired pizzas, mini loaves of bread for fresh sandwiches, quessadillas, salads and dressings, kid friendly veggies, healthy desserts and all kinds of goodies. Everyone comes home with a recipe book to use all year long at home. Multiple studies show that kids who are actively involved with growing and preparing their own food at a young age set themselves up for a lifetime of healthy living. Banish inactivity and junk food from young lives by creating a passion and understanding for good food that is healthy, clean, fresh and delicious. Our Kids in the Kitchen Summer Camp will be held Monday - Fridays from 9:00 -1:00 and is taught by professional chefs and educators and includes a full lunch daily. Cost of the Camp is $175 per camper or $320 for two siblings. We do have a limited number of partial scholarships available (call Mary for consideration at 817-3727). Registration for each session will be limited, so call to sign up soon! 828-894-0234 Camp Session Dates: June 27 - July 1 July 11 - July 15 July 25 - July 29 |
