Jesus wept. It's more than a good go-to verse for quick Bible memorization. It's a simple verse that shows us the human side of Jesus and the deep-reaching truth that God is present in the crud of this fallen world. Of course, this isn't the only simple verse in the Bible that conveys simple truth. Use this issue of InWord Online to reconnect with a few familiar passages and to go deep with simple truth.

1. From Barry, InWord Director: Short and Simple

John 11: 35. The shortest verse in the Bible: Jesus wept.

Not only the shortest Scripture, "Jesus wept" is the shortest sentence you can construct. Subject. Verb. Zip in, zip out. You can hear God saying "don't over think this" when considering the theology behind this verse.
