Whether you're embarking on a short-term mission trip or doing projects in your community, challenge your teens to let this summer be the summer when their lives become defined by "love in action," as opposed to "love inaction."

FromBarry1. From Barry: The Payoff of "Have and Obey"

We try to do mission trips for the right reasons, out of obedience and love. But let's face it, as leaders, we love what these experiences do for our students. And that's not all bad. TryThis2. TRY THISA Bite-Sized Exercise in 1 John 3

With the apostle John being one of the last writers to add to the New Testament, it's as if his words are the finishing touches on the gospel message. A small chunk of Scripture in 1 John 3 gives us some specific handles on how our lives can reflect the love that God wants the world to see.

Media3. Media Presentation: The Ebb and Flow of Hear and Do

What made the wise man wise? How can we produce a crop exponentially greater than the seed we sow? It's all in the ebb and flow of "hear and do." Take a moment with this media presentation to experience several passages that make the vital connection between hearing God's Word and doing God's Word. Use this for personal devotional time or with your students in a worship/teaching setting. The slides are timed to encourage lingering with the Scripture (and to allow for different reading speeds); you should, however, be able to advance the slides manually if it moves too slow for you.
