PRACTICE CORNER

The single most important element in learning to play an instrument is consistent practice. Students beginning should practice 10 to 20 minutes a day depending on age, by the time they are in high school 1 to 2 hours is recommended.

 

In order to help students stay motivated it is important for parents to value their younster's efforts, even when you are hearing the same passage for the thousandth time.

Also this is the perfect place to post Youth Symphony performance dates, school performances, summer camps, scholarships, auditions, pictures, videos etc. The more people join and participate, the better the resource.

Sam Morrison

Sam Morrison has been studying saxophone with Mr. Wilson for 7 years, he is planning on pursuing a degree in performance with an emphasis in jazz. Sam will be performing for the North American Saxophone Alliance Regional Conference at University of Montana in March and will be leaving soon to perform at Carnegie Hall with the American High School Honors Performance Series--Sam had also been chosen to perform with this years All-Northwest Band the same weekend.
