Storm Damage at The Gingham Daisy

ginghamOn Sunday, July 22nd, the owners of The Gingham Daisy were shocked to discover that weekend storms had caused a partial roof collapse at 102 E. Front Street. The collapse resulted in major damage to the store's merchandise and interior. Initially feared to be a total loss, the building has been inspected by structural engineers and been deemed repairable.

Since word spread of the roof failure, the downtown Burlington community has come together to aid owner Mary Smith and her family throughout the cleanup process. On Tuesday, vendors were allowed in the building to start removing merchandise. On Wednesday and Thursday, gentlemen from Sustainable Alamance were on site assisting the Smith's with debris removal and cleanup. Please keep the Smith family in your thoughts and prayers as they confront this devastating loss and the hard work ahead.
