Burlington Active City Streets
Saturday, May 5th  
10a.m. - 1p.m.  

Walk, bike, run, skateboard or skip to downtown Burlington this Saturday for the first Active City Streets event. There will be activities such as Zumba, Tai Chi, yoga and African dance being held in the streets. A children's area will be placed in the Lab Corp. parking lot across the street from May Memorial Library. The Burlington Sister Cities will also have cultural demonstrations and activities going on in the Depot area. Be sure to stop by Saturday morning!

Humane Society of Alamance County Wine Tasting & Membership Drive
Company Shops Market Co-op
Friday, May 4th, 6p.m. - 8p.m.
 
From the HSAC event flier:
"Come join us for a wine tasting at
Alamance County's new provider of fine wines and "local food for local people." You'll have a rare chance to speak with all the dynamic and friendly leaders of HSAC. We will be so glad to tell you in our own words why we need you as a member of the Humane Society of Alamance County."

Sara-Anne Photography wins Next Great Place Competition!  

Congratulations to Sara-Anne Caudle, owner of
Sara-Anne NGP - WInnerPhotography! As the grand prize winner of our Next Great Place business competition, she won a year of free rent in a downtown location, along with assistance for business start-up expenses.

Our other two finalists, Vintage Jane and Emily's Cookie Mix Shoppe, each went home with prizes of their own. Vintage Jane was the runner up, and received an award of $14,000. Emily's Cookie Mix Shoppe won the People's Choice Award and received a prize of $8,000. All three of our winners will be presented with a free membership to the Alamance County Chamber of Commerce and free marketing assistance upon locating downtown!

 Downtown Burlington once again Farmes Market logohas an active farmers market! The Burlington Downtown Farmers Market will run each Saturday morning thru October. Farmers will set up in the parking lot located between Webb Ave. and Front Street.
