Burlington Downtown Wins Award!

Have you heard? Downtown Burlington is a winner! The North Carolina Main Street Center awarded Best Public-Private Partnership to the Company Shops Market Co-op Project!

 
Each year awards are presented to qualifying Main Street communities throughout North Carolina. The Best-Public Private Partnership award is given to a project that was a success due to many entities coming together.

A big thanks to the Company Shops Market Board of Directors, The City of Burlington, the USDA, Fidelity Bank, Weaver-Cooke Construction, Mayer and Phoenix Architecture, and the citizens of Burlington for getting the project off the ground!

 

Announced: Haven By Bella's

Bella's House has announced that they're growing! They will be opening their second business in Downtown Burlington. Opening on March 1st, Haven by Bella's will be selling new furniture and home accessories.

The new store will be located at 410 S. Spring Street. We can't wait to see how it turns out!

 

Small Grants Program Deadline
February 29th

If you're an existing downtown business, or would like to start a new one, check out our Small Grants Program. Application dates fall on a rolling deadline, with the next one being at the end of the month.

 
All grants are 50/50 matching, and are available for business up-fit, interior systems, marketing and residential development. We also have a program specially for restaurants.

All applicants must have a pre-application meeting with the BDC in order to be considered eligible. For more information, contact us!

Next Great Place Moving Forward

At the conclusion of the first round of The Next Great Place, we received 10 submissions for new businesses in Downtown Burlington! These contestants are now being evaluated by the judges.

We hope to have the semi-finalists announced by next week (February 10th). Many of the businesses submitted would be a great fit for downtown. The BDC is looking forward to the rest of the contest!
