Tonight at the Front Street Public House:
Pretty Little Things 

This female trio from Nashville will be rocking the Front Street Public house on Wednesday, September 21st.

 

There will be no cover for this show, and therefore no excuse not to come out! The show should get started around 9pm. 

 

Drafts will be on special tonight for only $2!

Did you know that CSM Co-op has free beer and wine tastings accompanied by live music every Friday? The market plays host to a variety of local musicians, brewers and vintners.

Thursday, September 22nd will be the first gathering of the Friends of Downtown Burlington. The meet-and-greet will take place from 5:30pm - 7:30pm at the Front Street Public House

 

If you are already a Friend, bring someone with you to sign up! If you haven't joined yet, but would like to, this is the perfect time.

 

We hope to gain input about future excursions and events group would like to see organized. Hopefully you can find some time to stop by!

Friday's On Front with Mercy Creek
Friday, September 23rd

Friday night marks the closing of the 2011 Friday's on Front concert series. As part of the county-wide Musical Chairs, there has been live music in Downtown Burlington one Friday a month since May.

The final band of the season, Mercy Creek, hails from Virginia and will bring a completely different sound to our stage. Their folk and bluegrass melodies will fill downtown with relaxing vibes.
Movies on the Move

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Join us this Saturday for a showing of 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles" as part of our Movies On The Move outdoor movie series. This hilarious movie starring John Candy and Steve Martin is a comedy classic. Bring your blankets and chairs to enjoy this FREE event on the lawn behind the Historic Depot Downtown.

Walk To End Alzheimer's

Saturday, September 24th

Come together in Downtown Burlington this weekend to join the fight against Alzheimer's diseases. There are countless community groups, businesses and families that will be walking in order to raise awareness and support for research on the disease.

This event will contain much more than just walking! A dj from KLOVE will be on hand offering encouraging words and music to participates. There will also be a silent auction and resident art located inside of the Depot. Bouncy houses, Zumba classes and much more will also be offered!
1st Annual Beer-BBQ
Saturday, September 24th

Streets of Downtown (Davis, Main, Spring)

Hosted by the Rusted Bucket Tavern, the Beer-BBQ is going to be an event not to be missed. The first of its kind in Downtown Burlington, the event will highlight different styles of bbq, host many local bands, and engage participants in fun events such as a hot dog eating contest and bobbing for pickles. Aside from being a really great time, a portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Lupus Foundation of America.

 

Tickets for the event may be purchased ahead of time at the Rusted Bucket Tavern located at 118 E. Davis street for only $15.

Ride For Lupus

In conjunction with the Beer-BBQ, J&L Bicycle has organized a benefit bike ride to help the cause. Whether you're a novice or expert, there's a distance to match your skill set. Pre-registration is $35 and includes a ticket to the Beer-BBQ! If you plan on attending the Beer-BBQ, this is a great way to make the most of your day!
