 Historical Reenactment to Be Held Downtown
April 1st - April 3rd Beginning Friday, April 1st, the Sons of Confederate Veterans will be holding a historical encampment around the Historical Depot in Downtown Burlington. The showcase will begin on Friday and conclude Sunday April 3rd with a historically accurate church service. All activities for the event will be held in the lawn by the Depot, the Downtown Amphitheater and the Paramount Theater.
The event is being held in conjunction with many others across the country to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War. The Raleigh News and Observer wrote a great article explaining how the participants trained to get ready for the showcase. Click here to read it!

Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale Happening Now! It's that time of year again for the Friends of the Library Book Sale. Going from now until March 29th, there are books, cds and dvds for sale. Volunteers have worked hard to arrange the books in a manner that will make it easier for shoppers to find just the right thing.
