Greetings!
As the weather beings to warm up, take some time and walk around downtown Burlington. The streetscape improvements are making progress each day. Soon, new banners and planters will be placed throughout the entire downtown area.
The BDC has also been working with the Live Oak agency in Elon to come up with a new brand mark and logo for downtown. Throughout the next few months, we might need community input. Stay tuned to our website and Facebook for any information about this exciting process.

Meet Author Don Bolder on March 7th
 As part of their Meet the Author series, May Memorial Library will be hosting local author and historian Don Bolden on March 7th at 7pm. Bolden will speaking about his newest book, Burlington: Then and Now as well as taking questions from the audience.
At the BDC, we use Don Bolden's books to reference many lost historical details of downtown Burlington. It's a rare occasion that someone with this much knowledge of our local history gives a free session in Downtown. This will be an event not to be missed!

Perk-o-Later Now Has Evening Events
Are you looking for creative ways to express your artistic side? Do you have a musical talent and want to perform in front of an audience? Come check out evenings at the Perk-O-Later in Downtown! The coffee shop has extended its hours and is now open in the evenings. There's a different activity or source of entertainment each night of the week. Check the weekly calendar to see what interests you.
Monday: Art Fusion - Painting and Art, Come collaborate with other area artists!
Tuesday: Arts & Crafts Night
Wednesday: Open Mic Night
Thursday: Open Mic Night

Tell The Story of Company Shops Market: Historic Downtown Burlington Revitalization Effort
In the fall of 2010, Company Shops Market worked with an Elon University film class that produced fantastic shorts about the co-op and the many people and producers behind this exciting effort. In the latest installment, BDC Executive Director Anne Morris, along with Patrick Harmon, speak about downtown's current revitalization effort and the effect Company Shops Market will have upon the area. Check out the video to see a very informative and hopeful piece of work.
