Burlington Downtown Corporation Weekly Update
September 13th-17th

Greetings!
This week we invite you to participate in making Downtown even better. We're in the beginning stages of a branding campaign and we'd like your input on how you view Downtown Burlington. We've included a link to a survey below that will take less than a minute to complete.
We're also really excited to announce that the City Council has approved the Streetscape Project. It's just one of the many steps along the road to making Downtown the best it can be.
Help Us Develop A Downtown Burlington Brand
We're in the beginning stages of developing a brand for Downtown Burlington and need your help. By taking our survey, we can gain a sense of how the community views the Downtown currently and what direction they would like to see us move in. There are only two questions and we would greatly appreciate your input.

City Council Approves Streetscape Plan

On Tuesday, September 7 the Burlington City Council approved Phase I of the Downtown Streetscape Plan. Our consultant from Haden-Stanziale was on hand to present all the information about the new planters, trees, banners and trash receptacles. The work should begin by the end of the month. Keep you eyes on Downtown for all the new pieces. These are some examples of the new banners that will soon be hanging Downtown.

Visit our website to view the full presentation given to the City Council. The entire plan and examples of the new items can be viewed by clicking here.
Downtown Crosswalks Almost Complete
A couple of weeks ago we included pictures of the work being done on the crosswalks in the Downtown area. By the end of this week, all of the cross walks should be completed. The road closures have been a slight nuisance, but the crosswalks look amazing! If you haven't taken the time to check them out, I highly suggest it. (Yes, we're getting excited about crosswalks!)

Interested in Getting Involved? Join One of Our Committees!

The Burlington Downtown Corp. is interested in working with members of the community that want to see our Downtown prosper. We have three different committees that we invite you to consider becoming a part of.

Green, Clean and Safe Team: This group focuses on keeping Downtown beautiful and safe. The implementation of our streetscape plan makes this committee one that will be integral to maintaining our new Downtown additions.

Markeing/Strategic Planning Team: This group will focus their attention on advertising and marketing efforts. We're in the beginning stages of conducting branding research and will be needing quality input from community members.

Merchant Relations/Events & Promotion Team: Downtown is home to several events that take place throughout the year. Business and shop owners directly benefit from these happenings, but are interested in evolving and updating them to better fit the needs of Downtown. If you have a passion for planning and a desire to build community relations, this is the committee for you.

If interested in learning more or joining, please contact Julie Terry at jterry@burlingtondowntown.com.
