Greetings!

Having launched several projects and been witness to a number of business openings over the last few months, the theme for this newsletter is "new". Enjoy reading about the newness that Main Street Wausau and our downtown community brings.

New Website, New Design, New Features

In early October, Main Street Wausau was pleased to launch a new website - www.WausauRiverDistrict.com - to promote the River District and our organization!

The website's new design, or the image of the River District it portrays, reflects the vibrant commerce and community life one can experience when visiting our central business district. Visit the site and you'll see that this image is achieved through the use of clean, vivid graphics and great photography of businesses, buildings, and events in the District. Over the next few months, you can expect to see this fresh design carried through to new promotional materials.

To showcase what the District has to offer community members and visitors, and make their experience in the District a user-friendly one, we integrated new and improved features into the site, including:

  • Easy to find information on shopping, dining, entertainment, and service destinations in the District.
  • A weekly listing of the inside scoop on events and happenings in the District - everything from live music to bargain buys.
  • An itinerary builder to help out-of-towners plan their stay and navigate the District.

In addition to promoting our downtown community, the website is dedicated to outlining the programs and services our organization provides to grow businesses and enhance properties in the District. Explore the "Do Business Here" and "About Us" sections of the website to find:

Whether you currently own a business or property in the River District, would like to someday, or you just love Wausau's downtown community - we encourage you to visit WausauRiverDistrict.com to see for yourself what the District and our Main Street program has to offer!

Main Street Wausau worked with the marketing and design team of Creative Communications & Design and the database and website development team at KRC Software to create the site.

Add the District to Your Holiday List:

The New River District Holiday Advertising Campaign

Main Street's Promotion Committee launched a new holiday advertising campaign in November aimed at drawing holiday shoppers to the District to experience our charming shops, diverse dining, and gracious hosts. The ads encourage shoppers to "Add the River District To Their Holiday List" and drive them to our website for a listing of Holiday Happenings and Events in the District.

This year, the ad campaign consists primarily of television and print ads. Click on the

video to the right to view the new commercial that is being aired in our local television market through mid-

December. To view the print version of this ad, click here.

We hope you add the River District to your own holiday list and that you share these ads and your experiences in the District with family, friends, and co-workers.
