February Trivia Question:
What big event happened to Philip on Valentine's Day?

Team Spotlight
Philip Rodgers--Service Technician

This month's employee focus is on Philip Rodgers. Philip joined the Plus Team in 2011 as a copier service technician. He began his career in the office equipment industry in 1999 and has a well-rounded knowledge of the service department having assisted with delivery, set-ups and inventory control.
Though Philip has only been with us a short time, his co-workers are already noticing his great attitude and that he is a "genuinely happy and friendly" person. This attitude carries over into his job performance because Philip is very concerned with helping the customer. He loves meeting new people and explains, "I think the most important part of my job is being able to walk into a bad situation and make it good again. I like to fix machines, but love to fix the customer!"
A big event has just happened in Philip's life...he asked his girlfriend, Amy, to marry him on Valentine's Day, and she said YES! Congratulations Philip and Amy! Philip really enjoys spending time with Amy and their daughter, Kaylin. Kaylin has been in competitive dance for four years so Philip and Amy spend a lot of time at the studio and on competition trips. Philip's hobbies include building and cleaning guns as well as target practicing. Philip said one of his future goals is "to have my own gun repair shop and indoor shooting range! I love to teach people how to safely use, clean, and shoot their guns proficiently."
If you have any questions or comments for Philip, please email him at philipr@plusinc.net or call 864-242-9090

A4 copier? What is that?
Like a teenager speed-texting on a cell phone, the copier world loves to throw around acronyms. We toss around MFP (multi-functions printer), AIO (all in one), PPM (pages per minute), CPP (cost per page), etc.....
In recent years, you may have heard or read the term A4 copier of A4 MFP in conversations about copiers or printers. A4 itself actually refers to an international standard of a paper size most closely equal to the U.S. standard of Letter (8.5" X 11"). Manufacturer research has found that only about 3% of all volume produced on traditional office copiers is Ledger (11 X 17). Customers looking for a commercial grade machine with little or no need of ever running Ledger inspired the manufacturers to intrroduce "A4" models. Although A4 models are designed to run mainly Letter size, they will typically run up to Legal size (8.5" X 14") as well.
Benefits overview of A4 models: - Smaller: require less physical space than larger copiers
- Faster: Higher PPM than larger models at the same or lower price
- Economical: Newer A4 models have higher yield supplies that lead to lower TCO (total cost of operation). Sorry...couldn't resist one more acronym.
Plus Inc. has many A4 model choices from both Ricoh and Konica Minolta. Speeds range from 20 to 50+ PPM and include all the copy/print/scan/fax functions you need to run an efficient office. Please contact us at 864-242-9090 or click here. |

Greer Christian Learning Center This month's non-profit focus is on Greer Christian Learning Center. Located in Greer, SC, this organization offers Bible classes to public school students. Each week, approximately 575 students from Greer Middle School attend Bible class, and this year 125 Greer High School students have taken a Bible class for credit. Along with basic classes, the center also teaches a Life Lessons class to high school students preparing them with skills such as defending their faith and handling finances after they leave home. Confidential counseling for students is also available at the Learning Center, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes meets at their facility once a week. Plus Inc. recently donated a copier to Greer Christian Leaning Center. Director Cathy Neely said the center felt so blessed with this donation because they are able to copy 600 letters to mail out to parents to tell them about the center's upcoming Abstinence Education Program. To learn more at the Greer Christian Learning Center, visit them on Facebook, their website, or call 864-848-3591. |
