Team Spotlight-Amy Wood
Applications Specialist
This month's focus is on our Applications Specialist, Amy Wood! Amy hails from Michigan and attended Eastern Michigan University where she majored in music with a percussion focus. After moving to the Greenville area 12 years ago, Amy got her start in the office equipment industry as a Help Desk Technician / Exchange Administrator. In 2009 she joined the Plus Team where she handles a variety of projects such as pre-sales, implementation, and post-sales support of document management and work flow solutions.
Amy's favorite aspect of her job is getting to meet different people in different work environments. Her excellent customer service skills and detailed listening skills help her to understand the needs of the customer and to tailor a solution specifically for them.
Amy is a team player both in the office and outside of the office. She has organized a group from Plus Inc. to deliver Meals on Wheels, and she volunteers with Habitat for Humanity with her most recent build this past Saturday (see picture on Plus in the Community section). Amy is an active member of St. James Episcopal Church and is the proud mother of two boys ages 6 and 4. Originally from the Detroit area, she is an avid Detroit Red Wings fan!
If you have any questions or comment for Amy, please email her at amyw@plusinc.net or call 864-242-9090.

Handy Service Tip #7
Keep Toner on Hand!
Installing your last toner? Order more now! A majority of our competitors don't keep supplies in stock so one benefit you have as a Plus Inc. customer is a local warehouse with the supplies you need. However, running out of toner creates emergencies for both of us so make sure to keep at least one on hand for your machine at all times. Customers with color machines should keep one of each color on hand. We do have to charge emergency delivery fees for same day orders so check your supply stock today!
Remember, you can please your supply order through our website, www.plusinc.net, or call us at 864-242-9090.

Intel living up to
"Sponsors of Tomorrow" tagline
Last month Robert & Frank hopped on I-85 south to a little place we call Nerdtopia! A two day event hosted by Intel and Microsoft held in Atlanta. The event featured representatives from both companies to cover some of their latest products. We will focus on Intel's products for this article.
Intel started by covering the unique features of their 2nd generation Core processors. A family of processors that includes the i3, i5, and i7. The whole series was engineered with embedded graphics built right into the chip. This eliminates the need for a separate graphics controller. The graphics levels include basic HD graphics available on the whole series to a higher level of HD graphics available on some Core i5 and i7 models. The processors also use Intel's Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 which automatically speeds the processor when the computer needs extra power and saves energy when it doesn't. Lastly, this processor series includes Intel's Hyper-Threading Technology. This feature enables each core of the processor to work on two tasks at the same time, which improves performance when users are multitasking.
Intel wrapped-up its segment with coverage of their new Solid-State Drives (SSD). SSD's have a few advantages over more traditional hard disk drives. These include faster PC responsiveness, no moving parts for higher reliability and longer life, and more rugged to better withstand bumps & shocks. SSD's also use less power so laptops run longer when using their battery.
Intel is not only sponsoring tomorrow, but has some pretty cool technology available today! |
Customer Focus-
Taylors Free Medical Clinic
North Greenville Rotary Club (NGRC) works all year long to raise money for selected charities. David Carson, President of Plus Inc, is a member of the NGRC and nominated our customer, Taylors Free Medical Clinic, for a monetary award. Taylors Free Medical Clinic received $1,550.00 from NGRC's Foundation, and David Carson presented the check to Executive Director Karen Salerno at the awards luncheon at the Poinsett Club on June 17th. The North Greenville Rotary Club also gave monetary awards to many other deserving organizations at this meeting. This is just another way that Plus Inc. and its members serve the Greenville community.
