This month's employee focus is on Chris Carson. Most of you have probably met Chris because he was literally born into the office equipment industry at Plus Inc. His dad, Herb Carson, founded the company before he was born, and Chris started working at Plus in 1983. In his teen years at Plus, Chris cleaned the office and delivered supplies for the industry at that time - typewriters and calculators. Eventually, he moved into sales and spent many years supplying copiers and cash registers to customers. He now works supporting our warehouse, service and sales departments by delivering supplies and installing equipment. Chris is always willing to go the extra mile to keep our customers satisfied whether delivering supplies or taking parts to a technician. Taking care of customers is Chris' #1 priority! Chris has always enjoyed his job at Plus Inc, but considered going into a different industry. However, after his father passed away in 1995, his perspective changed a bit. It became very important to him to carry on the business that his dad started. He explains, "It was important to my dad and made him feel proud that his sons worked in the industry with him. After Dad passed away, it became important to me to carry on what my father started. Working at Plus gives me a proud feeling that I am carrying on Dad's legacy. Dad started this business, and I want to carry on what he started and give great service to our customers like he did when he was here." Outside of work, Chris is still always going the extra mile. His wife, Cheri, and he attend St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church where they were married in 2000. They both participate in the church's weekly prayer chain, and Chris volunteers each year at Thanksgiving with First Baptist of Greenville delivering meals to the less fortunate. He is also an avid memorabilia collector with his prized items being autographs from Babe Ruth and The Beatles! Chris and Cheri are the proud parents of two four-legged children named Tigger and Snowball. If you have any comments for Chris, please contact him at chrisc@plusinc.net or call 864-242-9090. |
