Team Spotlight-Danny Summers

Service Manager

Plus Inc. is pleased to announce a slight change in our staff!  Danny Summers is once again our Service Manager!  Danny joined Plus Inc. in 1981 and was Service Manager from 1985 to 2003.  In 1998, Danny became a partner in the business.  In 2003, he took some time away from the office equipment industry and moved out of state, but he rejoined the Plus team in 2007 as a Service Technician and recently resumed his former position.

Danny Summers

Danny started his career in the office machine industry in 1973 servicing typewriters and adding machines in Columbus, GA.  As a Service Manager, he became friends with a Silver Reed products representative who introduced him to Herb Carson, founder of Plus Inc.  Herb was looking for someone with Silver Reed typewriter experience as well as someone to become his Service Manager.  Danny became the perfect choice.  Over the years, Danny has seen a lot of changes in technology, and he has developed his skills and knowledge to meet that change enabling him to maintain the quality of service that our customers require.

As Service manager, Danny is continuing to emphasize the Plus Inc. goals of our service department by stressing first call satisfaction, improving the efficiency of technicians' parts inventory, and reducing our on-site response time.  Danny explains, "Our service team is always working hard to make sure that we are providing the very best response time and quality service that anyone can provide.  Our entire team takes tremendous pride in the service that our customers have come to expect.  It's very rewarding to troubleshoot a difficult issue and to resolve that issue, but the most rewarding feeling comes from seeing a customer that is completely satisfied with a job well done."

Ask anyone on the plus Team, and they will tell you that Danny feels like part of their own family.  When asked how he feels about working at Plus, Danny expressed, "We have a great group of folks here, and I'm proud to have them as part of my extended family.  I've been at Plus for 26 years, and I've been truly blessed with some wonderful friendships.  Friends that you know you can call on at anytime are very special  I've met so many of those special people right here at Plus."

Danny is a big baseball fan, and in 1971, he was part of the Georgia High School Association 3A State Baseball Championship Team out of Jordan Vocational High School in Columbus, Georgia.  In 2010, that team was elected to the JVHS Hall of Fame.  Danny has two sons that he'll tell you are the very best part of him.  Taking in an Atlanta Braves game and getting out to the golf course are just a couple of things Danny enjoys.

If you have any questions or comments for Danny, please email him at dannys@plusinc.net or call 864-242-9090.
