StephanieTeam Spotlight--Stephanie Pilkenton, Administrative Assistant

This month's employee focus in on Stephanie Pilkenton!  Stephanie joined the Plus Team in 2005 enhancing our staff with her strong computer and customer service skills.  She has a variety of responsibilities in customer service and sales support including ordering Ricoh and Konica Minolta equipment and accessories and coordinating major account installation and billing.  Most of Stephanie's duties involve time sensitive issues.  When a customer orders a machine, it is her responsibility to order the equipment, track its shipping progress and notify our setup team or a third party servicing facility of its arrival.  Understanding the urgent nature of our business, Stephanie explains, "I feel like the most important aspect of my job is ensuring that equipment arrives as quickly and as efficiently as possible to both our facility and the servicing facilities of our national account customers."

Not only does Stephanie use her multitasking skills at work, but she also uses them at home.  Outside of Plus, her world revolves around her wonderful husband and best friend, Eric, and their two little girls, Jenna Jade (age 6) and Lexie Noelle (age 2).  Stephanie is an active member of The Lutheran Church of Our Savior and also helps with her daughter's Girl Scout troop (Troop 2995--Mountains to Midlands).  Her favorite food is sushi, but she also loves to cook and enjoys trying new recipes at home.  The Pilkenton family has one pet, a 3-year old brindle Boxer named Destiny.

Stephanie's energy shines though as she describes her Plus Inc. experience by stating, "My favorite parts of working at Plus are the people and the connections I've made through my work here.  I am truly blessed with knowing some wonderful people, both co-workers and customers alike.  I am truly blessed that I'm able to say that I love my job!"

Cancer Center
Customer Focus--Cancer Society of Greenville County

This month, we are highlighting our customer, Cancer Society of Greenville County.  Their mission is "to improve the quality of life of local cancer patients and their families and to improve the health of the general public."  They provide services such as financial assistance, medical supplies and equipment, professional counseling, educational materials and a lending library, and cancer prevention and awareness programs for the general public.  All funding for the Cancer Society of Greenville County comes from the Greenville community and stays in the county of Greenville.

Each year they host multiple fundraising events such as their fresh greenery sale in December, an annual golf benefit, and the Hope Ball which is held every two years.  The Hope Ball is a black tie dinner dance involving around 500 volunteers, individual supporters, as well as many sponsors.  The 2012 Help Ball will be on April 27, 2012 hoping to raise $350,000 for local cancer patient services.  The 12th Annual Ladies Golf Benefits will be held on June 13, 2011.  For more information about any of these events, call 232-8439.

Green Computing Tips:

Computers: Shut down desktop computers that are not going to be used overnight and weekends.  Before replacing your current computer, check to find out if it is possible to add more RAM.  You may be able to get another year or more before scrapping the computer.

Laptops: Use power saving settings that are included within Windows.  Turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when  not in use.  Same RAM upgrade consideration as desktop computers above.

Monitors: Power off monitors when not being used for long periods of time.  Before upgrading to a larger monitor, try using the F11 key while browsing in Internet Explorer.  This will give you a full screen view; simply press F11 again to return to normal view.

Printers: Turn off all printers that will not be used during non-business hours.  Consider an all-in-one model when practical.  An all-in-one model reduces the power consumption from three or four separate devices down to one.
