Team Spotlight--Garrick Smith--Service Technician

This month, we'd like to shine our spotlight on another one of our favorite employees, Garrick Smith.  Garrick joined the Plus Team in 2009 as a Service Technician for Konica Minolta and Ricoh copiers and printers.  He got his start in the office equipment industry as a summer job when he was attending Aiken Technical College.  After completing his Associates Degree in Occupation Technology with an emphasis on maintenance, he went on to complete his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration.  Garrick decided to stay in the office equipment industry which brought him to the Upstate.  His professionalism and his service expertise on multiple manufacturer lines of equipment have made him a great asset to the Plus Team.  Garrick Smith

When asked about his favorite aspect of the job, Garrick exclaimed, "I love the challenge of this job, but my favorite thing is meeting new people.  I love people!"  Garrick's passion for his work is exhibited by his strong desire for customer satisfaction.  He explains, "Customer satisfaction is the most important thing to me.  I'd rather the customer be satisfied whether or not it is in my favor."

Garrick enjoys working at Plus Inc. because of the "family feeling which gives a sense of security", and he adds, "Seeing the level of commitment from everyone speaks volumes".

Outside of work, Garrick has the same unselfish desire for the satisfaction of others.  His family is a huge priority in his life, and he loves spending time with his wife and children.  He enjoys playing softball and is heavily involved with his church family serving as a deacon and working with the youth ministry and the men's ministry.

Because of his consistent positive attitude and genuine sprit, Garrick is an inspiration and encouragement to his co-workers and his friends.  Thanks for all you do, Garrick!

iPad for Business?

Most people think of the iPad as another gadget that is   only good for listening to music or social networking. But  the iPad has grown up since its release one year ago.  With its 10 hour battery life, quick startup, light weight and go anywhere 3G capabilities,  it is ready for business.

Today's iPad has many features that make it ready to go to work.  This amazing device enables the user to view and create documents and presentations in all types of common formats.   Another business friendly application addresses the need to access office computers and industry specific  processes remotely.  Printing, what I believed was the biggest hurdle to overcome, is now possible with the iPad.  Lastly, the ability to get files to your iPad without having to synchronize with iTunes is now also possible.

So how would you use it? Take the iPad to client's office to make a presentation; you will be able to present your PowerPoint document quickly without the need to boot your Laptop.  Expecting an important email while on the road?  With iPad's 3G wireless capabilities, you will never need to ask your client to connect to their network.  You can download email and transfer files anywhere.  Meeting a client to discuss their account?   iPad allows you to remote into your PC and access your client database.   You'll be able to give them real-time information about their account. You can show a prospective client a demonstration video on your company, have pricing information at your fingertips, and enter the order in your system right there with the client.

The iPad can be a valuable business tool and give you a competitive edge.  But it needs to work for you and the way you do business.  Plus Inc. is dedicated to making your computer systems do just that.   The iPad might be the tool that puts everything you need at your fingertips.

Thank you for your business and support over the past 53 years.

Sincerely,

Plus Inc. Business Solutions
