Pacific Masters monthly meeting this Wednesday The Pacific Masters monthly meeting will be this Wednesday at the Walnut Creek Library Las Trampas Room, 1644 N Broadway, Walnut Creek CA 94596. All members are invited to attend, clubs are encourage to send a representative. Networking and light dinner at 7:00pm; meeting will begin at 7:30pm. There is parking in the basement of the Library building

Fog City Quadrathon
The meet includes the 500 Free, 100 Free, 200 Free and 50 Free. Preentry mail deadline is Tuesday 19 January. You can register the day of the meet. You must be a 2011 registered US Masters Swimming member

Coach of the Year
Coach of the Year nominations are due 14 February.
At the annual meeting, the Committee voted to change the Coach of the year nomination and award. The award will now be made at the Pacific Masters Short Course Yards Championships. Nominations should be sent to Michael Moore, chairman of Pacific Masters by 14 February. Pacific Masters has many great coaches, write a nomination and let the world know how you feel about your coach.

The Olympic Club 1500
Laura Val breaks all intermediate freestyle world records on her way to crush the 1500 world record.
In her first race after aging up to the 60-64 age group, Laura Val broke all the freestyle records at The Olympic Club 1500. Starting out with a 29.89 in the 50M Free (STEVENSON Lynette 30:70; Charlotte David 30.01)she continued on with a 1:05.16 in the 100 (DE VIVANCO Maria Del Rosario1:07.22; Charlotte Davis 1:06.58) ; a 2:24.19 for the 200*(Conny Boer-Buys 2:31.69); a 5:02.65 for the 400M(Barbara Dunbar 5:22.47); a 10:21.68 for the 800(Barbara Dunbar 10:58.58)and 19:38.63 for the 1500 (Barbara Dunbar 20:46.82). (The two by Charlotte Davis were interim records and not off the official FINA site, which publishes Masters World Records in May and November).This was truly a magnificant swim. Thanks to Paul Carter, Laureen Welting, the Olympic Club staff and volunteers for making this 1500 a memorable meet.

Jon Steiner Mile
The mile (either the 1650 Yards or 1500 Meters) can be swum any time until 28 February. You must have a 2011 USMastesr Swimming to be eligible to participate.

USF Valentines Day Meet
Pacific Masters largest indoor meet of the season.
The USF Valentines Day meet is the largest indoor meet of the season. It consists of all the 50 and 200's, as well as the World Championship centipede swim (Where world records are made to be broken). The meet is Saturday 12 February. You can enter on line.

Trans Tahoe Relay The Trans Tahoe Relay registration has begun. This is a very poplular meet that meets fills up very quickly. Last year, almost 1,000 swimmers competed in the largest PacMasters sanctioned event. It is time to put together your team for the July relay. There is a limited number of entries.
