Homestead Interchange is Underway!
homestead 1

One important milestone and a sign of growth in Southwest Johnson County is the Homestead Interchange.  Located between the Gardner Road and 206th, this interchange uses the Diverging Diamond Design for the first time in Kansas.  The interchange off of Interstate I-35 will provide direct access to the BNSF intermodal and the Logistics Park - Kansas City.  This interchange will also open new areas of the Southwest Johnson County region - making our location a true crossroads of opportunity.

Cities Join Forces for Wastewater Treatment Facility

Through a collaborative partnership, the cities of Edgerton and Gardner joined forces for a groundbreaking on July 17 for the Big Bull Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility.  The new wastewater treatment facility will support the BNSF Intermodal Facility/Logistics Park - KC (IMF/LPKC), as well as future development areas in Gardner and Edgerton.

Intermodal Progress
BNSF Intermodal
Our number one question seems to be the BNSF Intermodal and what is happening.  Several groups in Gardner, Olathe, Spring Hill and Ottawa have requested presentations.  First, the answer, BNSF Intermodal is scheduled to open in the fall of 2013.  There continues to be interest in sites around the intermodal as well as businesses wanting to locate.

The site is changing almost daily.  Below is the May 10 aerial photo.  We will send updates as we receive them.
